Tues 11th May- Abortion from a Humanist perspective.
Julian gave a talk on abortion from a Humanist perspective with reference to the Dawkins/Tim Tebow (Pro-Life US Football star whose mother decided to go against advice to have an abortion, therefore abortion is wrong...) argument. Dawkins considers the decision to have an early abortion and deciding not to have sex (that would result in a pregnancy) morally similar, do you agree?

Tues 13th Apr- The Sanctity of Life, Global Damage and Sustainability, and Can Violence Ever be Legitimate? (Last months postponed topic).
Julian gave a presentation he gave for the Radyr comprehensives six-form interfaith conference- "The Sanctity of Life, Global Damage and Sustainability, and Can Violence Ever be Legitimate?"
Mon 22nd February- A talk by Lorraine Barrett on the activities and services provided by BHA trained Humanist Celebrants.
Lorraine is Labour AM in the assembly and a part time Celebrant. The venue was in the function room of Owain Glyndwr, 10 St John St (adjacent to St John Church, Central Cardiff) at 7.30pm.
Thursday 11th February- Cardiff Humanists Darwin Day 2010 Event
Prof Anthony Campbell, professor in Medical Biochemistry at Cardiff University and an internationally acclaimed biochemist and expert in the science of lactose intolerance, gave a talk entitled "Charles Darwin, an inspiration for Wales in the 21st century". The Event was hosted by Cardiff Humanist Lorraine Barret AM at 6pm for 6.15pm start, Room 24, Ty Hywel, The National Assembly of Wales, Cardiff Bay.Flyer

Jim Stewart from the Evangelical Alliance presented a critique of Humanism from a faith based perspective. This event will took place upstairs in the Owain Glyndwr, 10 St John Street, Central Cardiff at 7.30pm.

Andrew came to talk about promoting Humanism as a non-religious world view in schools and to the public.

September 8th 2009- Special guest speaker- Anthony Lamb
Anthony Lamb from Crosskeys college was invited to talk about Passivism and Just War Theory. He has had a paper published recently on the justification of war as self-defence.

Julian (CH) presented an overview of Richard Dawkin's best selling book the 'God Delusion', followed by a summary and discussion of its main chapters.
